Head of Cempaka Putih Timur, Hening Nugrahani said this composting facility was built three months ago to reduce the volume of leaf waste that PPSU personnel clean up every day.

"The leaf waste collected by PPSU personnel is taken to the composting facility to be shredded first so that the decomposition process runs more quickly," she said.

She explained that the composting process takes about three months for leaf waste to turn into compost, some of which is used for internal purposes and some is sold.

"Some of the compost is used for landscaping gardens and green open spaces, while some is packaged to be sold for Rp 10,000 per kilogram," she explained.

According to Hening, her party has also provided small-scale composting facilities in three RWs to bring waste processing services closer to residents.

"After three months, we managed to reduce the volume of leaf litter by about nine cubic meters per day," she admitted.
